How we handle your information

Draft for review. This describes exactly what the website does today. The retention period below is set and enforced in code. Before launch the shop should still confirm the named contact and have someone qualified read this over. It is not legal advice.

Who is responsible

PA&PS Furniture Trading, trading as Talisay Cebu Finest Furniture, of P. Burgos St, Talisay, 6045 Cebu. Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) we are the personal information controller for anything you send us through this website.

To confirm: the DPA expects a named contact for privacy questions. Decide who that is — usually the owner — and whether to publish a name or just the shop's email.

What we collect

Only what you type into a form, and only when you choose to send it:

• Your name, so we know who we are replying to.
• Your mobile number and/or email address — one of the two, so we can reply.
• Your delivery area, so we can tell you whether delivery is free and what it costs if not.
• What you are asking about — the piece, sizes, materials, budget range and anything else you tell us.
• Reference photos, if you attach them, so we can quote what you actually have in mind.

We do not ask for and never want payment card details, ID numbers, or anything else through this website.

Why we need it, and for how long

To answer your enquiry, prepare a quote, and if you order, to build and deliver your furniture. We keep enquiries so that if you come back months later we still have your measurements and what we quoted, rather than starting again.

We keep enquiries for six months. After that, your enquiry and any photos you sent are deleted from our system automatically — not when someone remembers to, but on a job that runs every day.

One thing we should be straight about: when you send an enquiry, it also arrives as an ordinary email in the shop's mailbox, the same as if you had emailed us yourself. That copy is part of our normal correspondence and is not covered by the automatic deletion above. If you would like us to remove it as well, ask us and we will.

Who else sees it

Nobody buys it, and nobody uses it to advertise to you. It reaches only the services needed to deliver your message and run the site:

• Our email provider, which delivers your enquiry to the shop's inbox.
• Our hosting provider, which serves the website.
• If you message us on Facebook Messenger instead, that conversation is on Facebook and subject to their privacy policy, not this one.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies, and there is no Facebook pixel, no Google Analytics, and no third-party map embed. We use privacy-friendly visitor statistics that count page views without identifying anyone or following you between websites — which is why you are not being asked to accept cookies.

Keeping it safe

The site is served over an encrypted connection, enquiries are stored in a private database that is not readable from the public internet, and only shop staff with their own accounts can open them. No system is perfect, but nothing here is left open to the public.

What you can ask us to do

The Data Privacy Act gives you the right to:

• Ask what information we hold about you.
• Have anything wrong corrected.
• Ask us to delete it, where we do not need it to complete an order.
• Object to how we are using it.
• Complain to the National Privacy Commission if you think we have mishandled it — though we would rather you told us first so we can fix it.

Changes

If we change how the website handles your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. We will not quietly start collecting something new.
